ABOUT MYSELF
I am pleased that you are seeking information about counseling. The following
information is designed to help you know me and my counseling philosophy.
I
am married and have three children and have lived in the area for over 25
years. I am a Registered
Nurse and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in the State of
Connecticut. I hold a
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Psychology.
I am a
member of the American Counselors Association and the American Association
of Christian Counselors.
My
experience includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care for adults,
and inpatient psychiatric treatment of adolescents. I have worked as a
primary therapist for adults with both psychiatric and substance abuse
disorders for the past ten years. Whenever possible, and appropriate, I
try to include the client's family members or significant others as part
of the treatment process by offering education and encouraging support of
the individual.
It is my desire that not one person in need of
treatment would be of the belief that he or she is beyond help, or that
any situation is hopeless. It is my firm belief that where there is life,
there is hope. And that anyone who seeks help will find it.
